For users who relied heavily on the Audible app, the sudden battery drain issue is a major inconvenience.

Long commutes, daily workouts, and leisure hours were no longer accompanied by the engaging audiobooks they loved. What was once a seamless and enjoyable experience turned into a frustrating ordeal.

The battery drain issue was not only limiting the amount of time users could enjoy audiobooks but also causing their phones to heat up excessively during usage.

Several frustrated users reported that their device’s CPU usage was alarmingly high while running the Audible app, surpassing that of any other application.

Has anyone else experienced the last update or 2 for the iOS @audible_com app drains the battery like crazy? I used to be able to listen all day with the battery barely draining. Now it pretty much kills my phone in 3 to 4 hours, and the phones a little warmer too.

This morning I woke up and my iPhone 14 pro Max was completely dead. Last night I listened to about 2 hours on audible and when I last checked the battery was over 70% charged. I think there’s something very wrong with the iOS app for now. Happy listening everyone! @audible_com
