New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on April 04, 2022) follows:

Set in England during the Viking expansion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the twelfth installment in the celebrated franchise. It was released in November of 2020.

Ever since its launch, developers have updated the title with various content updates, the latest being the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC that places players in the shoes of Odin.

But as is the case with the majority of Ubisoft games, players have complained of various bugs and issues such as not receiving Jotun armor or the in-game world always raining when loading a save.

Having said that, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players have been complaining for a long time that the ‘Milk of Humankind’ quest is bugged. Many say that the cow is not moving no matter what they do.

With some reports dating back to a few days after the game’s launch, it looks like the bug is affecting player progression since then.

I cannot get the Quest/Mystery “Milk of Humankind” to progress. I tried to do it before mysteries were available on Asgard so I moved the stone ahead of time, now that I am able to do the mystery I cannot move the stone at all. I pushed the stone into the second area opposed to into the 3rd area of the mystery so now it is stuck next to the slats of wood leaning against the stone wall so the cow will not progress past the second section. No matter how many quest Ive done since then the stone will not reset its position. But if I leave and come back the wooden walls will reset.

Literally the most pointless quest of all time, let a cow out of a couple of fences. But if you pull a rock instead of push you can never complete the quest. The game has been out well over a year now and still not patched. Just scrap the quest it’s all I need for platinum and I literally couldn’t give a sh*t about completing this quest any more accept wanting the platinum, never platinumed a AC and thought of it as a real challenge. Totally ruined my experience.

While Ubisoft had acknowledged the issue last year as well, it looks like the developers have finally found the root cause of the problem and said that it will be fixed in a future update. However, there is no ETA on when the quest will be patched.

Moreover, we came across a workaround that might help players complete the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Milk of Humankind quest. It involves limiting the in-game FPS to 30 and moving the rock to the left until it moves.

You can watch the video below to get an idea of how to move the rock so the cow can finally move.

Rest assured, we will be updating this space when Assassin’s Creed Valhalla developers fix the problem, so stay tuned for more information.

Update 1 (April 20)

01:11 pm (IST): Ubisoft support on Twitter has confirmed that this issue has been resolved in the latest Title Update 1.5.1.
