Apple Watch users allege that the ‘On iPhone’ option is missing after the watchOS 10 update. Consequently, they are unable to play music from their iPhone library.

The ‘On iPhone’ option lets you conveniently play music saved on your iPhone from the Apple Watch. This could be done even without downloading the track or establishing a Bluetooth connection.

You can still play music from your iPhone on watchOS 9, but this function is missing on watchOS 10.

So, it is quite a possibility that Apple has indeed removed this feature.

And by looking at the reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), it appears that some Apple Watch users are not happy with this change.

Apparently, the ‘On iPhone’ button in the Music app has disappeared after the latest watchOS 10 update. Due to this, it’s impossible to browse and play the iPhone music library on the Apple Watch.

In addition to this, there have been observations that individual songs, albums, and playlists appear grayed out when browsing the library. This means you can’t play the tracks by tapping on them.

Sadly, Apple Store technicians were also unable to provide a resolution after tinkering with the devices’ settings. Users have even tried to unpair and re-pair both devices multiple times, but without any success.

Some have been asked to purchase an Apple Watch subscription whenever they attempt to transfer songs from their phone. Others are using a watch face with a Now Playing complication, at least for now.

One of the annoying issues I noticed right away with the latest update is that it seems I no longer can play music from my phone on my watch.
