Some Apple Music users are frustrated with the company’s decision to remove the ‘Keep up next’ or ‘Clear up next’ queue prompt when tapping on a song.

This unexpected glitch has raised doubts about Apple’s commitment to providing a reliable user experience.

how do I stop Apple Music to delete my queue when I pick another song from the same playlist or when I close the app? (Source)

I queue songs by swiping and choosing play next/last but sometimes I click on the song by accident and all my queued songs disappear. Please help. (Source)

The prompt for ‘Keep up next’ or ‘Clear up next’ in the queue on Apple Music is an essential element for ensuring a smooth music playback experience.

Users say that when they tap on a song accidentally, the queue resets. Earlier, they would get a prompt asking them whether they want to clear the queue or keep it.

Some claim that the prompt went missing after the iOS 16.4 update. This change was made for no obvious reason and Apple hasn’t come forward to offer any explanation.

This feature use to save me from obliterating my queue regularly but now it no longer asks. This has been happening since updating to 16.4. Is it no longer a feature cos many people complained about it? Is there a way to turn it back on? I never turned it off. Source

Since Apple hasn’t acknowledged the problem, it’s likely that we won’t get to see a revert anytime soon.

Recently, we also covered a bug where Apple Music’s Discovery Station goes missing or plays the same song.

So Apple has it’s work cut out and we hope to see a fix for both these recent issues.

That said, we’ll keep track of the situation and will post an update if and when there are any further developments.
