Designed by Apple, AirPods have completely redefined the Bluetooth earbuds experience. They are so popular that within a span of just two years, AirPods became the company’s most popular accessory to date.

Apple sells three variants of its earbuds that include the normal Apple AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. Having said that, the Cupertino-based tech giant released the third generation of AirPods in October this year.

Featuring support for spatial audio, IPX4, and Magsafe compatibility, it is a significant upgrade compared to its previous iteration.

While the AirPods 3 are praised by many, some users are reporting (1,2,3,4,5) that they hear a hissing or buzzing noise from their earbuds when no audio is playing.

Moreover, users also say that they tried replacing their AirPods but the new ones had the same issue as well while some disagree.

Hello! In my new Air Pods 3, there is constantly noise in the right earpiece. Low frequency sound. He is constantly present and you can hear him very well when there is no music playing or there is no conversation on the phone. The situation is very similar to what it was when Air Pods Pro came out. I spoke twice with Apple’s support, but they have no official information about the massive nature of this breakdown. But macrumors.com already has a lot of users with the secret problem. Do you think it is worth waiting for the official recognition of the Apple problem or taking it to the store? P.S. I’m sorry for my bad english.

Hi all, I just received my new AirPods 3s in the mail and unfortunately I’m not too impressed so far. I do like the fit of them but the right one seems to emit a buzzing whenever it’s in my ear. Has anyone experienced this at all? I’m upgrading from my AirPods 2s which also had a buzzing but in the left ear and I’m not going to be too thrilled if I have this issue on these ones as well. Planning to contact Apple later today, but what a massive pain. Wondering how many else are having the same issue?

Most reports from AirPods owners suggest that the buzzing noise issue is present in the right earpiece while only a handful say they hear it in the left earpiece as well.

This is really annoying to deal with if you are someone who needs to use their AirPods all day for calling or otherwise. It looks like updating the AirPods Gen 3 firmware to the latest version is not fixing the buzzing noise either

Fortunately, we came across a workaround that seems to fix the buzzing noise on the AirPods Gen 3. It involves changing the ‘Audio Accessibility Settings’ and turning on the ‘Background Sounds.’

Since Apple is yet to officially comment on the issue, users are wondering if and when they will stop hearing buzzing noise on their AirPods Gen 3. We hope that it turns out to be a software issue that can be fixed with an update.
