New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 7, 2022) follows:

In Apex Legends, Heirlooms are one of the rarest items in the game that a player can collect. With each symbolizing an iconic Legend from the game, players are keen to get their hands on even one.

The currency used to purchase Heirlooms from the Heirloom Store is known as Heirloom Shards. To obtain them, gamers must first open Apex Packs.

These packs can be acquired by leveling up, increasing your battle pass rank, and purchasing them with Apex coins (real money).

Apex Legends Season 15 ‘Free Heirloom’ glitch

So obtaining an Heirloom item is entirely dependent on chance. However, there is a ‘Free Heirloom’ glitch in Apex Legends Season 15 that lets players acquire these items for free (1,2,3,4,5).

There are already ten Heirlooms for various characters in-game, and Respawn plans to give each Legend their own unique item in future.

Several players have reported the way they got these items. Firstly, they get a connectivity issue, and the currencies in the right corner start flashing.

When a player clicks the legends tab and the new catalyst to check out skins, it is indicated that an item has been purchased.

When they opened a character’s tab, they saw that they had earned the new Heirloom items for it despite not meeting the criteria to purchase that item.

Players are concerned that they will be banned as a result of this issue since they obtained the Heirloom items in an unusual manner.

@PlayApex explain to me how I log in go to change my legend before entering the range and I’m given the option to equip an heirloom? Apparently other people I know have had it happen as well. Now I’m seeing stuff about a way to force it to happen? So now I have

As numerous people pointed out, it’s not worth risking your entire account getting banned over a glitched Heirloom, as EA will almost certainly take action. As a result, it’s highly recommended not to do it yourself.

That said, we’ll keep track of the situation and will post an update if and when there are any further developments regarding the matter.

Update 1 (November 8, 2022)

03:36 pm (IST): In a recent acknowledgment, EA support said that this issue will be resolved soon. However, they still didn’t provide any ETA for the same.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out to us! This is an issue we’re already aware of. Hopefully, it should be fixed soon 🤞 I recommend keeping an eye on our Twitter for any updates. Thank you for having patience! Have a lovely day and stay safe! -Connie (Source)

Update 2 (November 9, 2022)

03:51 pm (IST): In a recent update, EA Help has recommended players to not engage in exploits in order to obtain Heirloom skins as its a violation of their terms and conditions:

Hi there, sorry for the delay in seeing your message. If you unlock an Heirloom normally with Heirloom Shards then that would not warrant a ban. However we recommend not engaging with exploits, as doing so could be breaking our terms of service: https://bit.ly/2HNsl9F

Update 3 (November 10, 2022)

05:55 pm (IST): In a recent response, EA support said that they aren’t sure how the company will address the players who have already taken advantage of this glitch.

While I don’t have an exact eta on when you can expect to hear back I can confirm that they reach back out to every player that contacts them. I’m also not too sure how the team will be addressing players that used the Heirloom glitch. -TJ (Source)
