Apex Legends just pushed out the 2.05 update that introduces a brand-new Collection Event called the Best of Prey.

Apart from the event, the update includes numerous game improvements, bug fixes and new rewards. It also comes with a new ‘Gun Run’ limited-time mode (LTM) to add more variety to the overall experience.

Players can compete against three other groups in this new game mode as they race to master and acquire various weaponry. However, as soon as they begin playing in the ‘Gun Run’ mode on PlayStation 5, the game crashes.

Many players (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) are reporting an issue where the game keeps crashing while playing the ‘Gun Run’ mode on PS5.

Players are incredibly frustrated as they find it impossible to win or move ahead in the game due to incessant crashing.

Troubleshooting steps like reinstalling the game and restarting the console don’t seem to fix the issue for affected players.

Fortunately, Respawn has acknowledged the problem where Apex Legends is crashing in the ‘Gun Run’ mode on PS5.

As the issue seems to only affect the PS5 version of the game, switching to the PS4 version could serve as a temporary workaround for affected players.

Update 1 (September 22, 2022)

04:25 pm (IST): According to some players (1, 2, 3), the game isn’t just crashing in gun run mode, but the other modes are affected too. However, given the number of reports, this doesn’t appear to be a widespread issue.
