Android 11 is already out but there are devices other than smartphones that also run Android OS. Among them, Android TV devices that are yet to bag even the Android 10 update.

While Google announced the Android TV 10 update last year, it is yet to roll out to the devices in question.

Now, it seems that the OS update is rolling out to an Android TV Box device which is certified by Google.

Mecool KM1 Android TV Box is getting the Android 10 update which makes it among the very first ATV devices to bag the OS update.

Users are taking to online portals like Reddit to share the information about Mecool KM1 getting a firmware update while the OEM has also updated its support page.

Mecool KM1 users are getting the new update over the air but those who want to install the update manually can download it from the link given on the official Mecool Support page.

It is unclear which ATV devices have received the Android 10 update so far but this update took some serious time to roll out considering it was announced last year.

We reported way back in January that several Sony smart TVs received the Android 9.0 Pie update while later in June, Sony Bravia 2015 received Android 8.0 Oreo with January 2020 security patch.

This shows that software updates for smart TVs might take quite some time to arrive as they have a completely different architecture.

Moreover, Android OEMs focus more on smartphones which might be another reason for the delay in ATV software updates.

Nevertheless, this is still based on our speculation as there are no particular software update schedules for Android TV.
