Google’s expansion of its Find My Device network, designed to rival Apple’s Find My, is finally set for a global rollout on May 27, at least according to information coming from Chipolo support. This news comes after months of speculation and hints, with the initial launch limited to the US and Canada.

The journey to this date began with Google’s confirmation that the global rollout would be completed “over the next couple of months” in a statement to Android Authority. This timeframe hinted at a potential May or June completion.

Further clues emerged when Chipolo, a tracking tag manufacturer, informed 9to5Google that both of its compatible trackers would start shipping on May 27. At the time, this only seemed like their preferred shipping date based on their supply. Now, a screenshot of an alleged email from Chipolo support shared on Reddit appears to confirm Google’s plans for a May 27 launch of the Find My Device network worldwide.

Google’s gradual rollout strategy means that while some users in various regions may gain access earlier, global availability of the Find My Device network for tracking lost items is slated for May 27. This marks a significant step for Android users, putting Google’s location tracking capabilities on par with Apple’s long-established Find My network.
