Update (May 15):

Considering the complaints from users with long list of Contacts, one of the Google employees recently said:

Yes, we’re continuing to evaluate different options for helping users quickly navigate to specific names on their contact lists. We recognize that the current implementation is non-ideal for very long lists, so rest assured we’ll be launching something to address this in an upcoming release.

Original story:

After bringing wireless support, team Android Auto has released a new feature. The Google’s in-car infotainment system now lets you access your full contact list. This wasn’t possible until now – the only options you had were to use the Assistant, or select from a list of favorites/recently placed/received/missed calls, or manual dialing.

An Android Auto Team member John made the announcement in this regard on the company’s product forums recently.

in cases where you might have wanted to browse a full list of all contacts on your phone, that hadn’t been available as an option. That’s no longer the case. 🙂

To access your full contact list, you first have to open the top-left menu when in Auto’s phone dialer interface. There you’ll see a new option named Contacts, which you can use to browse your contact list.

Keep in mind that you’ll only get unrestricted access to your contacts while your vehicle isn’t moving.

Anytime you’re in motion, browsing will be restricted after several taps (to ensure that attention stays where it belongs – on the road).

Coming to PiunikaWeb, I know it was a complete switch over, but the idea was appealing enough to put in all the effort it called for. My work primarily involves research.
