Google has released the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 update for eligible Pixel devices. The new quarterly platform release builds upon the previous QPR1 Beta 2.2 update with stability enhancements, performance improvements, and bug fixes.
What’s New in Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1
Building upon the foundation laid by Android 14, this release introduces a series of refinements aimed at addressing user feedback and enhancing overall system performance. While the update doesn’t include app-impacting API changes, it provides developers with an opportunity to test their applications with the latest beta builds.
Key fixes included in the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 update are as follows:
- Package Manager Stability: Fixed an issue causing the package manager to crash during the installation of certain apps (Issue #303849830).
- Feedback Submission: Resolved an issue preventing users from submitting feedback through the Android Beta Feedback app (Issue #307592531).
- 5G Connectivity: Addressed an issue that sometimes prevented devices from connecting to a 5G network when available (Issue #306294357).
The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro were left out of the initial rollout. Google had marked the update for the duo as “coming soon” in its release notes. However, the update is now live for the two new flagships too. Here’s the complete list of devices Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 is rolling to:

If you aren’t already part of the beta program, you can register for it by heading here. Users already part of the Android 14 Beta program will receive over-the-air (OTA) update automatically. Those who just registered can check for updates in Settings > System > System updates.
The Android 14 QPR2 Beta enhancements and features are expected to hit the stable channel in March 2024. So if you aren’t willing to live on the edge and deal with the bugs and issues in the beta channel, you’ll have to wait a few months to enjoy the new features and improvements Google adds.
