If you are a Google Pixel user enrolled in the Android 14 beta program, there is good news, since Google has started the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1.1 rollout for all eligible devices. This update is focused mainly on bug fixes, and its small size of less than 20 MB makes this even more evident.

Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1.1 now available on your Google Pixel

The update is available for all Google Pixel devices from the Pixel 5a onwards. Interestingly, the build number differs between the Pixel 8 series, Pixel 5a (AP11.231020.016 in both cases) and the other models (AP11.231020.016.A1). This could be due to the slight delay in the arrival of the original beta to the Pixel 8 series.

The changelog highlights 2 main fixes in this update:

  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused some apps to be removed after a system update was installed and then prevented those apps from being installed again. In other cases, affected apps couldn’t be installed on a device even if they hadn’t been installed previously.
  • Fixed other issues that were impacting system stability, performance, and connectivity.

The new version also includes the November 2023 security patch, x86 (64-bit), ARM (v8-A) emulator support, and the latest Google Play Services v23.36.14. Likewise, this update could fix the annoying glitch that caused the removal of the Eufy Security app from Pixel phones.

If you are already part of the Google Pixel Android 14 beta program, you should already be receiving the OTA availability notification. However, you also have the option to install the update manually, either using the Android Flash Tool for factory images, or by downloading the OTA on your own.
