Amazon Music is one of the many music streaming services available. It faces other big names in the industry like Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal thanks to its catalog of more than 75 million songs and podcasts.

Like other similar services, you can enjoy Amazon Music both through its website and through dedicated apps for mobile devices (Android and iOS).

However, currently some Android users are facing an annoying crashing issue on Amazon Music app that prevents them from enjoying their playlists (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).

Amazon Music app crashing on Android devices

The Amazon Music app is crashing on Android during the loading screen, according to multiple reports. Also, the classic troubleshooting tips (clear cache + data, reinstall and reboot) do not help to resolve the issue.

Constant Crashing, Pixel 6

I have a newish Pixel 6, running Android 12 with the February updates. This is my first time trying to run the app on this phone but it crashes completely before reaching the main screen. I’ve tried the typical debug stuff (clear cache, clear data, reinstall, reboot) a few times in combination but haven’t had any change. I couldn’t find anything that makes me think it shouldn’t work, but didn’t know if I might have missed something.

The issue could happen on any current Android version, as there are related reports on both Android 12 and Android 11. It also doesn’t seem to matter if the OS has a custom skin on top, since it can also occur on Pixel phones.

Amazon Music app keeps crashing

As of yesterday app immediately crashes after opening on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, version 11. Previously working fine. Have cleared memory and cache, uninstalled and reinstalled. Still crashing. On reinstall icon not showing on home screen. Ready to cancel. Ideas?

Amazon team is aware and working on a fix

The Amazon team confirmed that they are aware of the Amazon Music app crashing issue on Android. The company is working on a fix, but there are no details on an ETA for it yet.

Currently, there are also no workarounds to help resolve or mitigate the issue while the official fix arrives. We will update this story once new details related to the matter emerge.

Update 1 (April 04)

04:54 pm (IST): Some iOS users are also reporting (1, 2, 3, 4) crashing issues with Amazon Music since the last update. Moreover, one of our readers has also confirmed the same.
