While Cash App along with other financial services are undergoing a widespread outage. It’s been reported that a glitch is letting Apple Pay and DoorDash users obtain free money and food respectively.

Reports suggest that a flaw allowed individuals to add money to their Apple Pay and order food for free on DoorDash. And Cash App is said to be responsible as the money didn’t even come from users’ own balance.

The process outlined by some users involved accessing the Cash App wallet. Then these users select the ‘Add Money’ option but only adding $50 at a time.

The glitch seems to result in the app displaying an error message, indicating that the transaction has not gone through. However, users claim that they still can see the added $50 in their wallets.

The same is the case with DoorDash (1,2,3,4,5). A number of users took the advantage of this alleged Cash App glitch and ordered free food.

Surprisingly, this serious outage or glitch is even affecting other platforms including Uber Eats.

So everybody just getting free money and free doordash and Uber eat ??😂😂

No official response

Unfortunately, none of the involved teams has responded with an acknowledgement or a statement. Even the origin of this bug is unclear, as is its timing.

But we’ll keep tabs on the issue and update our article as and when something noteworthy comes up.

Update 1 (September 8, 2023)

11:33 am (IST): A negative amount is apparently showing up in users’ accounts as a result of the most recent Cash App glitch (1,2,3,4,5,6).

06:26 pm (IST): Users are pointing out that some who believed they were exploiting Cash App are now waking up to find their accounts with a negative balance.

While others believe that they are being charged for the money they thought was obtained for free (1,2,3,4).

Update 2 (September 12, 2023)

06:05 p.m. (IST): Scammers are attempting (1, 2, 3) to extort money from users by falsely asserting that this glitch remains operational. We strongly caution all our readers against sharing any personal information with individuals making such claims.
