Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 has received positive reviews from various publications and is known for its noise cancellation, sound quality, and comfortable fit.

Despite these claims, there are some users who are experiencing issues with the sound of AirPods Pro 2.

Apple’s AirPods Pro 2nd gen has been widely popular since its release.

However, some users have reported (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) various issues related to phone calls, audio quality, and connection even after updating their devices and getting replacements.

I have the same issues with my AirPods Pro 2. I got a replacement through AC+ and the issues persist. Call quality is horrible, the other side often can’t understand me. I left test voicemails for myself and they sound muffled and like I’m under water.

When users receive a call with the 2nd gen AirPods Pro connected, they hear no sound for the first few seconds. Neither the caller nor the receiver hears anything for a brief period.

Apparently, when users pick up the call, the AirPods go into a weird transparency mode-like state where all the receiver hears is either static or outside noise.

This issue has been reported on various online forums and social media platforms, including Reddit, MacRumours and Twitter.

Another problem reported by some users is the sound being muffled or hissing.

Some users have also reported that the headphones go into transparency mode on their own, causing them to hear outside noise when on a call.
