Google just rebooted its Pixel Tablet, and this time it’s ditching the dock for a more affordable price tag.
Starting today, you can pre-order the standalone Pixel Tablet for $399 in the US, £399 in the UK, and €499 across Europe. That’s a cool $100 saving in the US, £200 less in the UK, and a decent €180 discount in Europe compared to the previous bundled version with the charging speaker dock.
But here’s the catch. The specs remain the same. You’re getting the same Pixel Tablet experience, minus the convenience of the dock. But for those who prioritize portability and a lower price point, this solo version is a welcome addition.
Pre-orders are open now, and general sales kick off on May 15 in the US, UK, EU, and other markets. This relaunch also expands Google’s reach, with the tablet now heading to Spain and Italy for the first time. But it’s still unclear whether Google will release official accessories like a stylus or keyboard for this solo iteration. The company hasn’t confirmed anything yet, so stay tuned for future announcements.
Whether you’re a seasoned Pixel fan or just looking for a decent and affordable tablet option, the standalone Pixel Tablet is definitely worth considering. With its lower price point and wider availability, Google might just be making a play for a bigger slice of the tablet market.
