Developers please reduce screen activity from deadpool, it causes me pre seizure symptoms so I dont find it safe to play this game anymore

Deadpool’s arrival in Marvel Rivals Season 6 has sparked something more serious than typical balance complaints: players reporting pre-seizure symptoms, migraines, and matches they physically can’t finish.
A Reddit post by user sufinomo hit nearly 4,800 upvotes with a simple request: “Developers please reduce screen activity from deadpool, it causes me pre seizure symptoms so I dont find it safe to play this game anymore”. The thread exploded with comments as hundreds of players jumped in, saying they’re dealing with the same thing, and it’s not just people with epilepsy or diagnosed conditions.
The problem seems to be Deadpool’s unique visual design. His abilities plaster 2D comic-style overlays directly onto your screen while you’re playing in a 3D space, creating what one player described as “someone phasing their hands through my screen and grabbing my whole face”.
Another user dealing with focal aware seizures said their symptoms have been “acting up crazy” since the character dropped. Parents mentioned their kids quit after two matches because the visual noise was too much to handle.
The complaints aren’t isolated to one thread. A post about needing three bans just to avoid Deadpool’s visual clutter got over 5,800 upvotes.
Another thread called him out for bringing “so much visual clutter”. A separate discussion labeled him “the most anti-neurodivergency character ever” because of sensory overload issues.
The community’s proposed fix? Turn Deadpool’s flashy decals into solid black overlays, like the squid ink effect in Mario Kart. That would keep the vision-blocking mechanic without the strobing graphics that seem to trigger symptoms. Players have been filing support tickets through Marvel Rivals’ Discord and in-game chat, with some reporting quick response times from the team.
NetEase hasn’t made any public statement about accessibility changes yet. But when this many players are saying a character makes the game unsafe to play, it’s hard to ignore.
Games like Final Fantasy XIV already let you disable other players’ visual effects, and Marvel Rivals might need similar options if it wants to avoid pushing part of its player base out entirely.
