YouTube fixed the bug that was hiding upload dates, view counts, and like counts in the mobile app. If you opened a video’s description yesterday and saw nothing but blank space where that info should be, you weren’t imagining it. The glitch hit the expanded description tab after you tapped “more” and affected both Android and iOS users.
The problem started showing up some hours ago and blew up fast. People flooded X with screenshots tagging @TeamYouTube, and the r/youtube subreddit had multiple hot threads complaining about it.

A lot of viewers said it made it impossible to tell if a video was new or years old, and creators hated that their real stats were invisible.
TeamYouTube acknowledged it in their official support thread and marked it as “working on it.” The latest status update was made roughly an hour ago, where they confirmed that a fix for the issue is live. Upload dates and counts are back where they belong for pretty much everyone now.

It was a short, annoying outage, but YouTube handled it fast. Dates and stats should now be showing normally for most users. However, we did find a few recent reports mentioning that the upload dates are still missing from Shorts videos.
Meanwhile, if you’ve also noticed something else off with the UI in the past few days, you should know that the platform is experimenting with replacing channel names with their usernames and even hiding the sub count.
