Facebook appears to be experiencing technical difficulties that are preventing users from uploading Reels and videos to the platform. Multiple reports have popped up online over the past few hours, with frustrated creators finding themselves stuck with processing uploads that refuse to post.

The issue seems particularly troublesome for content creators who rely on the platform for their work. Popular creator page The Waziri’s Lifestyle flagged the problem, asking their followers, “We are unable to upload videos on Facebook. Is it just us that is experiencing this?”

Turns out, they’re far from alone. Over on the Facebook subreddit, user sasskiax shared their mounting frustration after attempting to upload a Reel multiple times across two different devices. What started as four upload attempts somehow resulted in eleven duplicate pending posts showing up in their Meta Business Suite, all stuck with “Processing” status. “Now I’m just worried about them all going through,” they wrote, concerned about accidentally spamming their own page overnight.

The thread quickly filled with others experiencing identical problems. One user mentioned they kept retrying their upload, hoping it would eventually work, while another warned against trying to edit older video posts during the outage after losing content in the process. Another user did manage to locate Meta’s status page showing issues with the Admin Center starting around 8 am. However, at the time of this writing, the status page only mentions the following issue: “Resellers are unable to view clients support cases inside their Partner Center.”

There’s no indication of anything wrong with uploads on the platform, despite fresh reports appearing.

Reports aren’t limited to Reddit either. On X, users like Dipu Shaw have been calling out the platform, with one reply from user Deepika confirming they’re also unable to upload Reels.

What makes this particularly aggravating for creators is the uncertainty around what happens to all those stuck uploads. Will they suddenly post all at once when the issue resolves? Will they time out and disappear? There’s no way to cancel them, and Meta hasn’t provided guidance on whether users should expect a flood of duplicate posts once systems are back to normal.

If you’re stuck in the same situation, I’d suggest not uploading the same video multiple times and just waiting it out. Since this seems like a server-side problem, it will most likely be fixed within the span of a few hours.

This comes on the heels of another Facebook bug that’s been causing headaches for users. Earlier today, we reported on a widespread issue where comments are mysteriously disappearing from posts, adding to what’s shaping up to be a rough day for the platform.
