Call of Duty is one of the most popular franchises in the first-person shooter game category. Modern Warfare 2 was recently released on October 28 and has received appreciation from both fans and critics.

The game is available on most major platforms, including PlayStation, Windows, and Xbox. Despite receiving a number of updates since its launch, the game still suffers from occasional bugs and issues.

For instance, we recently reported about the camo selection lighting appearing too bright after the latest Season 01 Reloaded update.

Just like the main game, the multiplayer mode has been quite an unbalanced experience for some. Players are now facing certain issues with the flashbangs in the mode.

@InfinityWard can you buff “Battle Hardened”, the amount of flash bang grenade spam is ridiculous. The battle hardened perk does little to counter them.

They ruin Shipment I literally get flashbang spammed at least every game everyone is just spamming tacticals and cluster mines it’s not even fun anymore

The problem is especially bad in the Shipment mode, where seemingly everybody spams them resulting in a terrible experience.

Players demanding ‘inverted’ or ‘dark mode’ flashbangs

Players took to social media to express their concerns and feedback on the situation. Several have demanded the addition of a dark or inverted mode specifically for flashbangs in the multiplayer mode.

According to gamers, this would allow them to use flashbangs without straining their eyes resulting in smoother gameplay. Battlefield 2042 has also experimented with black flashbangs and players have loved the idea.

If implemented, this will allow players to play the Shipment mode without the need for sunglasses.

i kinda wish more games adopted the dead by daylight style of being blinded, instead of pure white your screen.

the fact shipment is so dark and the constant flashing is so bright it causes really bad strain on the eyes and induces headaches. My solution was a blacked out flash grenade like this. Hoping this solution gains traction.

We are hopeful that the developers will listen to players’ feedback and consider adding a dark mode or inverted option for flashbangs in the multiplayer game mode.

No official acknowledgment or potential workaround

Unfortunately, the developers have not yet officially acknowledged the problem with the behavior of flashbangs in the multiplayer game mode.

Furthermore, it appears that there is no feasible workaround that could assist in resolving the current problem.

That being said, we will keep an eye on the issue where flashbangs are overpowered during the multiplayer gameplay in COD: Modern Warfare 2 and update this story as new information becomes available.
