After a long wait, Brave v1.92 has just been released for iOS, and it’s now available for public use.

A few days ago, the CEO of Brave, Brendan Eich, said that v.92 was in TestFlight on iOS (replying to a post enquiring about the status of the updates on iOS).

Brave’s VP (for Web3 and iOS) later responded that the estimated time for the release was around 2 weeks, depending on how quickly Apple approves it.

Thankfully, it didn’t take two weeks. Just a few days after this conversation on X, the latest Brave update was approved, as confirmed by Brave’s VP in the same X thread.

The previous version on iOS was v1.91.1, which was released on July 11. If you’re still running that, you can visit Brave’s App Store page manually and hit “Update.” It’s worth noting that v1.92 isn’t new for the desktop version and Android; they got this update a while ago. iOS is just catching up.

I’ve checked for this update myself, and sure enough, Brave shows a new update on the App Store. You can view a screenshot of the changelog below.

While the previous update introduced Brave Origin, this update isn’t that feature-heavy. It includes some generic stability improvements and bug fixes, while also improving Shred settings.

For those unaware, Shred settings is a privacy tool that lets you quickly delete site-specific data that a website has stored on your device, such as cookies or local storage. Unlike the ” Clear all Cookies” option, this feature doesn’t log you out of websites. However, do keep in mind that shredding a site will close all the open tabs for that site.

Furthermore, this update also brings Night Mode support for the Amazon.com website.
