Have a brilliant app idea while commuting? Google is making sure you can bring it to life from anywhere. At the recent Google I/O 2026, a game-changing partnership was revealed: Firebase and the Google AI Studio team are officially joining forces to launch a dedicated mobile app for Android and iOS.
The app will allow developers and creators to “vibe-code” fully functional web apps entirely from their phones. By leveraging robust Firebase backends, users can seamlessly generate complex, AI-powered applications on the go. Eager users can already register for the app at ai.studio/mobile.

But mobile vibe-coding is just the tip of the iceberg. As app development becomes increasingly interwoven with AI, Google announced several major feature enhancements to the AI Studio and Firebase ecosystem:
One-Click Cloud Run Deployment: Firebase’s integration with Google AI Studio now supports one-click deployment to Cloud Run. To make things incredibly frictionless for developers, Google is waiving the payment method requirement for your first two Firebase-enabled apps on the new Google Cloud Starter Tier.
Seamless Google Workspace Integration: You can now hook up your custom apps such as Gmail, Docs, and Sheets directly to Google Workspace data using natural language. Powered by Firebase Authentication via a secure “Sign in with Google” flow, you can easily build tailored workflow apps. Want an app that automatically triages your inbox, transforms text documents into slide decks, or itemizes expenses in a spreadsheet? You can now prompt it into existence.

Antigravity and Kotlin App Generation: For projects that need to scale up to multi-agent orchestration, Google has introduced a simple “Export” button. This allows developers to graduate Firebase-enabled apps from AI Studio straight into Google Antigravity. All your source code and Firebase context carry over automatically so you can pick up exactly where you left off.
Furthermore, Android developers are getting a massive boost. Google AI Studio now lets users generate entire Kotlin-based Android apps via a streamlined workflow. Deep Firebase integrations for these Android builds, including out-of-the-box support for Firestore, Firebase Authentication, and App Check, are slated to arrive soon.
Whether you are deploying full-stack web apps from the palm of your hand or generating robust Kotlin Android apps, Google’s latest updates promise to make AI-powered development faster and more accessible than ever.
