BTS member Jungkook’s verified Instagram account completely disappeared today, leaving millions of fans staring at a blank profile.

The account, which has over 21 million followers under the handle @mnijungkook, went totally under today. According to fan tracking accounts on X, visitors trying to load the page are just hitting “user not found” or “something went wrong” screens.

From what I was able to piece together, this looks like another automated moderation screw-up on Meta’s end. A post by BTS Charts News pointed out that Meta’s AI has been mistakenly deactivating verified business and celebrity profiles all day.

This wouldn’t be surprising, if true, because we’ve already highlighted Meta’s AI misfiring and suspending accounts out of the blue.

An X trends report tracking the fallout noted that Meta’s automated systems recently nuked the pages of TXT’s Yeonjun, Stray Kids’ Hyunjin, and NCT’s Haechan and Mark.

Those accounts got restored relatively fast after corporate intervention. That is giving fans some hope, but users are still incredibly annoyed.

In my testing, the account simply doesn’t show up when searched for. Though Meta’s AI summary on the search page does link to the account, tapping on the link just took me to a blank page with no information at all.

Right now, fans are spamming Meta and Instagram’s corporate feeds, demanding a manual review to lift the restrictions.

Neither Meta nor Big Hit Music have said anything official yet. Jungkook’s TikTok page is also reportedly acting up with similar glitches, so the whole thing remains a mess.

I cover fast-moving stories across apps, online platforms, and everyday tech — phones, wearables, consoles, and whatever else people are fighting with this week. Bugs, rollouts, scams, policy enforcement, and the occasional internet-culture rabbit hole are all fair game. My goal is simple — make confusing tech news readable. When I'm not working, I'm working out or chilling with my dog. Got a tip? You can find me on X @dcubbins.
