Spotify seems to have removed the Top tracks this month feature from user profiles in its desktop application. The section used to display your top 50 most-played songs over a rolling four-week period and it updated frequently throughout the day.

It disappeared over the weekend without any announcement from the company.

For years, many listeners relied on that simple panel to keep an eye on their current favorites. One user who posted in the r/truespotify subreddit explained that they used the data to manually build large monthly playlists as a way to archive their listening history. Now, the spot where the list used to appear is completely blank on desktop profiles.

The removal has annoyed people who liked having quick access to fresh stats. Spotify still offers an On Repeat playlist that highlights songs you have played a lot recently. That list refreshes only every few days. The old profile section gave more up-to-date information that changed as you listened more.

The app’s newer Recents tab does not serve as a full substitute either, as noted by a commenter. It shows recent plays, but you cannot shuffle the entire list like you can with a regular playlist. That limitation makes it less appealing for users who want to revisit and mix their recent tracks easily.

Apart from Reddit, there’s at least one complaint about the issue on X too.

Some have gone as far as saying they might stop paying for premium because they feel Spotify is removing useful tools that helped justify the cost.

As a matter of fact, just a couple of weeks ago, it discontinued the global Viral Charts which showed what songs were gaining traction around the world.

At the moment, the top tracks section still loads if you use Spotify in a web browser. This suggests the change might not be fully rolled out everywhere yet, or it could be a temporary state while the company decides what to do next.

In the absence of an official fix, someone suggested turning to third-party websites for their stats. Services like Stats for Spotify, Volt.fm, and Trackify let users check their recent top tracks and other listening data.

The company has not responded to the complaints or confirmed whether the feature will return in any form.
