For the past few days, several Google Home/Nest users have been reporting various issues with SiriusXM stations. Basic commands such as “Hey Google, Play SiriusXM channel 1” return the response “…isn’t available or can’t be played right now.”
Weirdly enough, the service remains linked in the Google Home app. You can find various reports on Reddit and Google Nest Help. Many replies to the posts linked above also confirm the same issue. The issue has been going on for a couple of days now.

This isn’t the first time that SiriusXM has faced issues with Google Home. Users have faced similar troubles in 2022 and 2023 as well.
For now, the most reliable workaround is to open the SiriusXM app on your phone and select the desired channel. After this, you’ll need to cast it to your Google Nest speaker. Basic troubleshooting methods, such as rebooting the devices or relinking the accounts, have reportedly failed to fix the issue for a majority of users.

Understandably, users are frustrated and annoyed about the issue. A lot of people use SiriusXM stations for daily listening, and this random failure has interrupted their experience.

Google Support technicians have allegedly acknowledged the issue in some user cases, and reports have allegedly been escalated for investigation. Reportedly, SiriusXM is also actively tracking the problem. Some users have received confirmation that the problem is currently under review.
However, no timeline was mentioned for a public fix. Neither Google nor SiriusXM has officially issued any public statements regarding the problem, and for now, affected users will have to wait for an update that fixes the issue. Do keep an eye out for app updates on the App Store/Play Store. Until then, manual casting via the app is the only solution.
