I just created one 10 second 720p video with Grok Imagine on the SuperGrok plan and got hit with a limit for the day on 720p videos.

Incredible... @xai is ripping off subscribers now.
Explains why so many people have been complaining over the past few days -…
Elon Musk just confirmed that usage limits for Grok will be increased, throwing a bone to subscribers who found their image and video generations severely choked over the past week.
He replied directly to a frustrated user on X who demanded higher caps and a basic warning before limits kick in. The response was short and to the point as he simply said, “Limits will be increased.” He did not provide a timeline or say what the new generation allowances will actually be.
The backlash has been entirely justified. For those who haven’t been following what’s going on, users paying $30 a month for the SuperGrok tier suddenly found themselves locked out of core features.
I actually ran into the exact same problem myself and vented about it on X the other day. I tried generating a single 10-second 720p video and instantly hit a daily cap. It was a pretty bad experience for a premium service.
We reported on this quiet throttling as complaints started piling up. Since then, we’ve seen a massive wave of reports flood the platform, and Reddit too.
Before Musk’s response, which landed earlier today, Mark Kretschmann shared a screenshot of a DM they received from an xAI employee confirming the brutal new caps.
Woo noted that standard SuperGrok users are now limited to just 15 videos per 24 hours. The $300 a month Heavy tier users get about 80 videos. He also confirmed that once a user hits their 720p video cap, the system bumps them down to 480p output.
To make matters worse, Woo stated that moderated or failed generations still count toward your limit. This is something we highlighted in our previous report too.
Meanwhile, on Reddit, users have been ripping into a post suggesting that subscribers should give xAI time to figure things out. Users called the sudden limits a bait-and-switch. They pointed out that paying full price for a downgraded service is not a great deal.
Many subscribers are openly discussing canceling their plans or issuing chargebacks. They noted the lack of communication from xAI made the whole thing feel like a scam.
xAI clearly had to step in. A quick promise from Musk on X is a start. For now, subscribers just have to wait and see if the new limits actually make the service usable again.
