The AI-centric browser, Dia, had a monthly $20 susbscription that offered unlimited chats and better contextual awareness. However, the company is quietly phasing out Dia Pro.

Users on Reddit have received messages from Dia, where it’s mentioned that Dia Pro would be retired by the end of May. The Dia team thanks users for being part of the subscription. You can read the entire message, as shared on Reddit, below.

No more Dia Pro.

It’s unlikely for the company to terminate paid subscriptions entirely. The message says that they’re “Making room for what’s next,” implying that another subscription would probably launch, with a different set of benefits. No further details were shared, except for “It’s based on user feedback and insights.”

Fortunately, users are getting a complete refund for their current billing cycle (May) after Dia Pro ends on May 31. No further action is required from the user’s side, and it will automatically revert to the free Dia tier once the cancellation is complete.

There were actually a few signs of this closure over the past few weeks. People on Reddit noted that the Pro subscription has vanished entirely, with the “Pro” section also vanishing from Dia settings. Users started hitting token limits as if they were on a free subscription.

Dia Pro vanished.

Furthermore, several subscribers reported suddenly hitting token limits associated with the free tier, despite being charged for their May 1 invoices. Troubleshooting steps and emails to customer support reportedly yielded only automated responses or ‘Could not subscribe’ errors.

Apart from removing any mention of Dia Pro in the browser, the official website also no longer advertises the Pro subscription.

The Browser Company (parent company of Arc and Dia) was recently acquired by Atlassian, and in the comments, users speculate that it might be merged with an Atlassian subscription. Others think that a paid subscription model for a browser doesn’t make sense at all.
