It seems like many X users who just won their account suspension appeals are finding themselves immediately restricted again. Less than 24 hours after getting their accounts back, dozens of people are reporting a sudden notification that X has added a temporary label to their profile.
This label acts as a strict shadowban that severely limits the reach of their posts. A recent post on r/twitterhelp on Reddit gained some traction, where the OP said they got the warning just hours after being unsuspended. They had not posted any new content and only liked a few posts before the system flagged them again.
Other users quickly confirmed they are facing the exact same problem. It is starting to look like the platform’s spam filters are hyper-sensitive to any activity from newly restored accounts.
A live search on X shows a steady stream of complaints right now. People say they are being flagged for inauthentic behavior simply for liking posts.
One user pointed out that they opened a link, hit the retweet button, and got immediately redirected to a captcha before being slapped with the label. Another person mentioned spending two weeks locked out of their account, only to be hit with this probation status right after returning.
According to X’s own AI chatbot Grok, these temporary labels are triggered by rapid posting or automation tools. But users say they are just interacting with the app normally.
Interestingly, some users claim that Premium subscribers can see an option to submit the label for manual review. But free users apparently do not have that button. One commenter says the appeal request is completely hidden for non-paying accounts.
There does seem to be a potential workaround, but you might not like it. The most common advice is to log out and take a complete break from the app for three to seven days. Any interaction during this probation period seems to reset the clock or trigger the label again. Users are advising each other to just stay off the platform entirely after getting unsuspended.
This wave of shadowbans follows a massive purge on the platform. We recently covered the ongoing chaos with X account suspensions, where genuine users were swept up in aggressive bot sweeps.
So it appears that the automated system is still treating recovered accounts with extreme suspicion.
We’ll keep track of the situation and will update the article if and when any further details surface. In the meantime, you might want to consider taking a break from the platform until the restriction is lifted.
