The third beta of One UI 8.5 came out today for the Galaxy S24 FE, and it brings several new AI features over from the latest Galaxy S26 series. The changelog of the roughly 734MB update mentions the usual bug fixes, but also a suite of new AI features. These features were previously unavailable on older models.

S24 FE gets One UI 8.5 Beta 3.

A post on Reddit in r/oneui details all the new features, with screenshots. For now, it seems to be live in Korea as well as India, but it’ll eventually roll out globally. This is the list of features that Samsung added to the S24 FE with One UI 8.5 Beta 3:

  1. AI Call Screening: You also have the option to enable “Auto screen calls” under AI Call Screening.
  2. Advanced Photo Assist
  3. Gemini in Now Brief
  4. Creative Studio
  5. Advanced Audio Eraser

New AI Features S24 FE.

While the Audio Eraser feature was present earlier, it’s a lot smarter now. It works within third-party apps such as Instagram or YouTube, and actively reduces background noise in real time.

Creative Studio was absent earlier. It allows you to create images with a prompt, or modify existing ones exactly how you want to. You just have to tell the AI what to change. It’s also helpful for creating custom stickers or custom wallpapers, with something as basic as a rough sketch. Photo Assist lets you send a prompt to tweak your images as well.

New AI Features on S24 FE.

If you’re on an earlier beta, I’d recommend updating to the latest one for new features and bug fixes. Weirdly enough, some people report that their units are stuck on beta 1, and the issue wasn’t even solved after a reset. If you don’t want to run a beta (which I don’t recommend doing on your main phone), then the S24 FE is slated to get the stable version of One UI 8.5 sometime in May. You can make use of these features then.
