YouTube seems to have quietly hidden the total video count on creator channels, removing a basic metric that millions of users rely on to gauge a channel’s size and history. Based on the timeline of reports, the change began rolling out widely several hours ago.
Right below a creator’s handle, where you usually see their subscriber count and total uploads, that second number is now gone. A user on Reddit shared screenshots of how it appeared before and after. Check them out below for reference:
And here’s what it looks like now:
There’s also a separate Reddit thread discussing the removal of the total video counts. Apart from Reddit, users who noticed the removal have also taken to X to voice their frustrations. “The way #youtube doesn’t show my video count anymore is so sad,” wrote one user.
After seeing the reports, I checked and can confirm that the total video count is missing from the web and the YouTube app. It’s quite a weird move since the video counter has been a staple of the platform for years.
That said, a few Redditors did note that you can still dig up the number if you click into the “more info” section on a desktop browser. But on mobile, where most people actually watch, the stat appears fully scrubbed from the main channel page.
I can confirm the same. The “more info” section on the desktop does show the total video count, but it’s missing from the app.

Still, YouTube users are frustrated. Viewers often use that video count as a quick credibility check. It helps them tell the difference between an established creator with a massive backlog and a newly spun up content farm. Removing it, or hiding it behind a second click, takes away a very basic piece of context.
Google has not confirmed if this is a permanent UI update or just an aggressive limited test. They are known for running weird server-side tests that eventually get rolled back, but this one is hitting a lot of accounts all at once.
We’ll keep an eye out for any further details and will update the article accordingly.
