Google has started sending out Gemini for Home early access invites to users in 16 more countries, widening the rollout well beyond North America.

The expansion was announced by Google Home and Nest executive Anish Kattukaran on X, who said the rollout starts today and should ramp up over the next week. For users in supported regions, the simplest thing to do is open the Google Home app and check whether an invite has appeared.

According to Google, the new batch includes Australia, Japan, New Zealand, the UK, and a long list of European markets, including France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. Support is also expanding to new languages, which is a major part of this update and likely the main reason Google is calling it a global push.

In a Google Nest Community post, the company said it has been steadily improving the experience since the early access program began last October. Google claims smart home latency is now up to 40% lower for common commands, while Gemini is also better at telling devices apart, handling more natural requests, and keeping responses shorter for simple tasks like alarms and timers.

There are a few other additions here too. Google says kids on supervised accounts are now supported, and Google Home Premium users can search live camera feeds in real time.

It’s worth noting that even though the rollout is starting today, it’ll be gradually ramping up over the week. So hang tight.

I cover fast-moving stories across apps, online platforms, and everyday tech — phones, wearables, consoles, and whatever else people are fighting with this week. Bugs, rollouts, scams, policy enforcement, and the occasional internet-culture rabbit hole are all fair game. My goal is simple — make confusing tech news readable.
