Paul McCartney’s official Reddit account seems to have been banned. The account, u/paulmccartney, had just dropped a set of photos and videos from the first night of his shows at the Fonda Theatre. It went straight into the r/PaulMcCartney subreddit. Then, not long after, the whole thing disappeared.

The post was titled “FONDA THEATRE – Night 1 Content.” It explained that the show was a phone-free experience and that the team wanted fans to have something to share with friends and family. A Dropbox link was included along with a push to share using the hashtag #PaulRocksTheFonda. Nothing remotely suspicious about any of it.

A Reddit user in the same subreddit noticed the ban and posted a screenshot of the “paulmccartney has been banned” page, saying they had seen the post and clicked the profile just hours earlier with no issue. We checked the account ourselves at reddit.com/user/paulmccartney, and sure enough, it shows as banned.

X user @Awk20000 shared the screenshots and the post bagged over 462.8K views in just a few hours.

Reactions on X have been far from kind to Reddit. One person nailed it by calling the situation the most Reddit thing ever, with a moderator booting Paul McCartney from his own fan subreddit. Others labeled it legendary moderation.

Nobody knows yet what triggered the ban. It could have been an automatic system, a moderator decision, or even some glitch with account verification. Reddit has not said a word about it.

The irony stands out the most here. The concert was designed to keep phones away so fans could focus on the music and the moment. Then the official account shows up to deliver that exact content, and it gets shut down for doing so.
