YouTube is dealing with a bug that’s causing some videos to show zero views or “No views” in search results, even when those clips have already picked up real views. The team acknowledged the problem in a community post and made it clear that this is only a display glitch. The actual view counts are still being recorded properly in the background.

The issue was put in the spotlight after users on Reddit started posting about it with screenshots. People were seeing search results list videos as completely unwatched when that obviously was not the case. In one r/youtube thread, a user named Striking_Truth_3158 called it the “No views bug when searching up YouTube videos.”

Another person, MidgetofDoomAMS, posted a screenshot of an old PewDiePie video, showing it had no views in the search results, when in reality, the video has over 14 million views.

Users in the comments have said it had been going on throughout the day and was not limited to phones or computers. Someone even spotted the same glitch while using YouTube on their TV. So it’s clear that the issue is not limited to just one or two platforms.

In the official response from YouTube, they noted that some videos are incorrectly displaying zero or no views on the search page despite having activity, and confirmed their teams are investigating it.

I checked again about twelve hours after their first update, and the bug was still showing up for me on certain videos. It was not affecting everything though. In the same searches, some results looked normal while others still appeared broken.

That said, the correct view count pops up once you actually open the video or check the creator’s channel page. It feels like more of a search-specific display problem than an issue with the overall analytics system.

For the time being YouTube says the real numbers are being tracked fine and they will post further updates in the original support thread.
