Grok Imagine users with paid accounts have begun noticing that their videos are vanishing. Many say the longer clips, especially those with NSFW content, have either been deleted completely or shortened back to their original length.
These complaints started showing up on Reddit over the past day or so. In one thread, the OP claimed that xAI has deleted many videos for SuperGrok users. In it, several people replied that they ended up canceling their subscriptions once their videos disappeared.
The reports tend to follow the same pattern. Most of the missing content consists of extended videos created from uploaded images, and they are frequently NSFW or close enough to trigger stricter filters. This makes the situation feel like more than a random glitch. It points instead toward some kind of moderation review or a pass over older material that had slipped through earlier.
Users have started expressing strong suspicions. In a separate thread titled “Lost trust in grok”, one person wrote that almost everything removed fell into the slightly NSFW category. This included extended videos made without any suggestive prompts at all. Other users pointed out that if the system can tag and remove these videos now, it must have had the ability to flag them right from the beginning.
Complaints have also surfaced on X. One paying user shared that several of their videos got deleted or trimmed even though they did not seem to violate any major guidelines or count as deepfakes.
This move, while questionable, isn’t surprising. xAI has recently placed more Grok features behind paywalls. Image generation with Grok Imagine now requires Premium access, and free users encounter subscription prompts when trying to use Ask Grok. All this follows earlier waves of complaints about heavy censorship that began in January.
For many subscribers, the sudden loss of their paid content creates a deeper problem. It gives the impression that nothing they generate is truly safe in their accounts anymore. This feels like part of an ongoing shift toward tighter controls on both features and moderation. So far, xAI has offered no public explanation for the video issues.
