For some people who have upgraded from the Xbox Series S to the Xbox Series X, they’re no longer able to access Discord. The Discord tab no longer appears in the Parties or Chats menu, and gamers are unable to transfer voice chats from Discord to Xbox parties.
I have gone through the Patch Notes on both the Xbox website and Discord’s website, and none of them mention a fix for this problem, except for vague stability improvements. It’s difficult to pinpoint whether this is an Xbox issue or a Discord issue, but the blame likely lies with Xbox since it was working perfectly fine on the Series S.
This issue has been happening for a few days, and it’s not just players who have upgraded from the Xbox Series S. It’s also happening to people who have been using the Series X for a while. A few people allege that it’s a Microsoft issue, but it’s difficult to confirm that. Despite linking accounts correctly, users are unable to spot a Discord option.
This isn’t the first time such a problem has occurred; we’ve seen similar complaints throughout the past few years. Relinking the account did fix it in earlier cases. Now, restarting the system, logging in after logging out, and all conventional troubleshooting methods are no longer working.
A few people suggest unlinking Discord from Xbox settings via the Linked social accounts menu. Performing a hard reset may help in some cases. Other alternatives include running Discord on your phone or PC while playing on the Xbox. Unfortunately, this involves switching audio manually between devices, which is slightly convoluted.
You can also try re-toggling the ‘Display on profile’ setting. A user has raised a ticket with Microsoft Support, and is due for a response within 72 hours. One user claims that Microsoft had sent it to their engineering team, but there has been no response for three days.
These issues arise amid Discord’s serious concerns with privacy and age verification. Discord Voice has been acting weird lately, and there’s a chance that such bugs are tied to their new Cloudflare backend shift. We’ve covered everything about that here.
