Grok users can now generate longer AI videos with a proper duration selector after days of random availability. The feature is rolling out across platforms, with the iOS app, Android app, and web version all showing a dedicated toggle between 6-second and 10-second video generation options.

The new selector appears in Grok Imagine’s video settings, giving users direct control over their output length instead of leaving it up to chance. Before this update, the 10-second videos were showing up randomly for a few days without any way to select them manually.

Elon Musk announced the extended video duration about a week ago on X, stating that “Grok Imagine now does 10 second videos with better video and much better audio”.

At the time, users testing the feature reported improved visual clarity and cleaner sound, but the random nature of generation made it frustrating to use consistently.

While I’m seeing the option appear in the Android app and web version, I personally haven’t spotted the option in my iOS app yet. That said, some users have already posted screenshots confirming its appearance on Apple devices. X user Dhalgren Marquis shared proof of the 10-second video option available on iOS, noting that it’s actively rolling out.

The video duration selector sits alongside other Grok Imagine options like the Spicy and Normal presets. Users can pick their preferred length before generating videos.

The new video feature arrives amid ongoing debates about Grok’s content moderation. Users recently complained about overly aggressive censoring that was blocking even harmless prompts, though Musk has clarified his position on NSFW generation for the platform. The extended video duration gives users more creative options, assuming their prompts make it past the filters.
