While the January 2026 Pixel update is largely a routine security release, Pixel 10 series users are getting a bit more attention this month, with several fixes targeting display performance, graphics, and touch responsiveness.

According to Google’s official changelog, multiple fixes marked specifically for the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold are included in this release.

Pixel 10-only fixes in the January 2026 update

The following issues are listed as Pixel 10-exclusive fixes:

  • Always-On Display flickering under certain conditions
  • Noisy lines flashing on the screen when editing HDR photos in Adobe Lightroom
  • General GPU performance improvements in certain scenarios
  • Fix for touchscreen becoming unresponsive randomly

First, Google is addressing an issue with the Always-on Display (AOD) flickering under certain conditions. Additionally, mobile photographers who use Adobe Lightroom will be pleased to see a fix for “noisy lines flashing on the screen” when editing HDR photos.

Google also notes general improvements for GPU performance in certain scenarios, which should aid in gaming and heavy rendering tasks on the new Tensor silicon.

Perhaps the most important fix for daily usability is regarding the touchscreen. Google’s changelog explicitly mentions a fix for an issue where the “touchscreen randomly stops working.” If you’ve experienced unresponsive touch inputs on your new device, this update is a must-install.

These changes suggest Google is still actively fine-tuning the Pixel 10 hardware stack, particularly around graphics processing and display drivers. The inclusion of GPU optimizations also hints at behind-the-scenes improvements that may benefit gaming, photo editing, and other graphics-heavy tasks.

The Pixel 10 series launched with Google’s latest Tensor platform, and while overall performance has been solid, users have occasionally reported visual artifacts, touch issues, and inconsistent display behavior. This update appears to directly address several of those complaints.

That said, Google doesn’t provide granular technical details, so it’s unclear how much of the work was done at the driver level versus higher-level Android optimizations.

Pixel 10 users receiving build BP4A.260105.004 (with region-specific suffixes) should notice improved stability once the update is installed.
