YouTube users are dealing with an unexpected annoyance. Their Shorts feeds keep showing bizarre Sprunki content they never asked for, and it’s becoming a real problem.
One frustrated Reddit user posted a screenshot of their shorts feed showing a livestream playing with these strange characters, asking if others were experiencing the same thing. The post quickly gained traction with over 130 upvotes, confirming they weren’t alone. Comments revealed that many thought Sprunki was dead, but content farms have clearly resurrected it for a new wave of spam.
Another user expressed their frustration with a title that says it all: “GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD”. They’re desperate to escape the constant barrage of Sprunki videos appearing in their recommendations. Even YouTube’s “Don’t recommend” feature doesn’t seem to work, according to comments.
Someone even discovered a Sprunki livestream in their history that they never intentionally clicked on. A commenter explained that scrolling past livestreams in Shorts adds them to your history, which then triggers YouTube’s algorithm to show more of the same content. Content farms exploit this exact loophole to spam their videos.
The content itself ranges from bizarre to concerning. Reports mention racist Sprunki content farms, while others point out the prevalence of inappropriate material disguised as kids’ content. One user noted that “brain rot and softcore po*n of it” regularly appears on YouTube. The original creator, a young teen who made a horror version of a small game, reportedly got doxxed because of how content farms twisted their creation.
It’s worth noting this isn’t affecting everyone. The complaints come from scattered reports across Reddit and social media, suggesting it’s a targeted algorithmic issue rather than a platform-wide epidemic. Still, for those caught in the algorithm’s crosshairs, it’s maddening. They can’t seem to train YouTube to stop recommending this stuff no matter what they do.
