9070xt driver issues? At wits end

HYTE is now actively investigating reports that its Nexus software is causing driver crashes and system instability for users running AMD’s new RX 9070 XT graphics cards. The company is reaching out through its Discord and Reddit communities, asking affected users to submit their log files.
The issue first gained traction on Reddit, where multiple users reported identical symptoms: random freezes, black screens, looping audio, and GPUs showing as disabled in Device Manager. One user on r/AMDHelp complained about daily crashes that required DDU reinstalls just to get their system functional again. They even shared a video highlighting the problem. You can watch it from the embed below:
The culprit? It appears to be HYTE’s Nexus software, specifically version 2.10.2, which controls the integrated displays found on cases like the HYTE Y70.
“We’re looking into these issues and would really appreciate your log files,” a HYTE representative commented on a complaint thread. They’re directing users to join the official Discord to submit their data directly.
For context, the RX 9070 XT just launched recently, and early adopters have been eager to pair AMD’s latest GPU with flashy case builds. The HYTE Y70, with its built-in touchscreen display, is a popular choice among enthusiasts who want to show off system stats and custom widgets. But that combination seems to be causing serious headaches.
Users who’ve tracked down the issue report that completely uninstalling Nexus and disconnecting the Y70’s case display immediately resolves the crashes. One user described going from daily driver resets to a completely stable system overnight.
“I had this issue. What helped me was reinstalling Windows and not using HYTE Nexus. It kills the driver,” one Reddit user explained. Another said: “For a moment I thought it was my graphics card or my PSU, and now I’m finding out that all this time it was Nexus’ fault.”
I’m glad to see HYTE taking this seriously rather than staying silent. Driver conflicts between case software and GPUs aren’t unheard of, but they’re frustrating when you’ve just dropped serious money on new hardware.
In the meantime, HYTE is recommending that affected users roll back to Nexus version 2.9, which appears to be more stable with AMD’s new cards. You can grab it directly from HYTE’s website.
If you’re running an RX 9070 XT in a HYTE case and experiencing crashes, it’s worth checking whether Nexus is the source of your troubles.
We’ll keep an eye out for any further developments and will update the article accordingly.
