If you opened Spotify this week expecting your annual listening recap only to be met with “We don’t have your Wrapped this year,” you’re not alone. A flood of complaints on the platform’s community forum shows users around the world staring at the same confusing message, and many of them aren’t happy about it.

The frustration makes sense when you look at who’s being locked out. One Premium subscriber from Armenia posted that they’ve listened daily since 2021 and pay the same monthly fee as everyone else, yet still got told they “didn’t listen enough this year.”

Another user from Macau called it annoying that a whole year’s effort feels wasted, while people in Mongolia, Ethiopia, and parts of Nepal are reporting the exact same problem.

Turns out, it’s not about your listening habits at all. A Spotify moderator finally confirmed what many suspected, but the company doesn’t advertise upfront: Wrapped isn’t available in all countries. The moderator made it clear that support can’t manually enable the feature and apologized to affected users, saying the team hopes to expand availability in the future.

That’s cold comfort for subscribers who spent months building playlists and tracking their stats, only to learn their region simply isn’t supported. There’s even an ongoing discussion about the same on Reddit.

Spotify’s official support page does mention that Wrapped and some features “may not be available to all users” because of “specific eligibility criteria,” but it never spells out which countries are excluded or why. The vague language has left paying customers feeling like second-class subscribers, especially when the app itself blames insufficient listening instead of just saying “your region isn’t supported yet.”

But the one thing that still doesn’t make sense is why Spotify would stop supporting Wrapped in the countries that were supported previously. Until there’s an official statement, we’ll have to take all this with a grain of salt.

That said, you should also keep in mind that Spotify needs data to generate your Wrapped, and if you haven’t used the app much, you likely won’t get your yearly recap. So that’s something everyone should still keep in mind.

What makes this worse is the timing. Wrapped has become one of Spotify’s biggest social moments of the year, with millions sharing their results across Instagram, X, and beyond.

Being excluded from that while your friends post theirs feels isolating, and for people paying the same Premium price as users in supported markets, it feels unfair. The company says it’s “always looking for ways to expand,” but until then, a lot of loyal listeners are stuck on the outside looking in.
