Google has officially begun rolling out the December 2025 Pixel update, delivering a long list of bug fixes and system improvements across nearly every modern Pixel device, ranging from the Pixel 6 series all the way to the latest Pixel 10 lineup and foldables. This comes just a day after Google published the December Android Security Bulletin, which signaled that the monthly rollout was imminent.
Importantly, this is not the December Pixel Feature Drop. Instead, it’s a standard monthly update packed with stability improvements, critical fixes, and the long-awaited stable release of Android 16 QPR2.
Rollout begins for Pixel 6 → Pixel 10 (including Fold & Tablet)
Google says the update is rolling out in phases starting today and will reach all supported devices over the next week, depending on carrier and region. As expected, most devices receive build BP4A.251205.006, with EMEA, Japan, and Verizon variants getting region-specific suffixes.
Supported devices include:
- Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a
- Pixel 7, 7 Pro
- Pixel 8, 8 Pro, 8a
- Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet
- Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a
- Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, 10 Pro Fold
(EMEA and Japan variants of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 families receive their respective A1 and C1 builds.)
Huge list of fixes across Audio, Display, Camera, Wi-Fi, UI, and more
The December update reads like one of the most expansive Pixel patch notes of 2025, addressing issues across nearly every subsystem. Some highlights from the changelog:
Battery & charging
- Fix for cases where the battery icon displayed a blank icon or a “?”
- Fix for incorrect behavior of the 80% battery protection limit
Display & graphics
- Fixes for screen flashes, hangs, freezes, and black-screen issues
- Improvements to screen responsiveness when unlocking from Always-On Display
- Fixes for foldable inner-display flickering when launching certain games
These display improvements are particularly notable for Pixel 10-series models and foldables, which have seen sporadic graphics issues in user reports.
Camera
- General stability improvements across multiple latest-generation Pixel devices
Touch & fingerprint
- Fix for fingerprint unlock failures under certain conditions
- Fixes for inconsistent navigation gestures and swipe-up behavior
User Interface
A big portion of the update is dedicated to refining system UI behavior, fixing issues such as:
- Keyboard flickering or failing to appear in the app drawer
- Blank Google Home controls screen
- Screen freezing when switching apps with gesture navigation
- Notification sound failures
- Overlapping UI elements in notifications
- Quick Settings glitches and onboarding crashes
- Notification shade incorrectly showing the QS shelf after unlocking
These UI fixes should significantly help users who’ve encountered random freezes or jittery animations on Android 16.
Connectivity
- Improvements to Wi-Fi stability on Pixel 8, 8 Pro, and 8a
- Better Bluetooth connection reliability
- Telephony fixes including a patch for emergency calling instability on Pixel 6-series devices
Android 16 QPR2 officially arrives with this update
Beyond bug fixes, this monthly rollout also marks the stable public release of Android 16 QPR2 for all supported Pixel phones. QPR2 brings system-level refinements under the hood, along with a number of new Android features that are not exclusive to Pixel and will roll out to the wider Android ecosystem in the coming weeks and months.
