A handful of Pixel 10 users are scratching their heads after Quick Share’s latest update. The moment they open the sharing menu, Wi‑Fi just drops. No warning, no error message. One second you’re connected, the next you’re not.
JayMZ posted on the Pixel Help Community describing what happens when they try to share anything. Opening Quick Share kills the Wi‑Fi connection instantly. When they check the Wi‑Fi settings while the menu is still open, the networks list shows up completely empty. Toggling Wi‑Fi off and back on only brings up their home network, but it won’t reconnect. Close the Quick Share menu? Everything goes back to normal.

Over on Reddit, justbecause0907 noticed their Pixel 10 Pro XL started acting up right after installing the Quick Share extension update that enables file sharing with iOS devices. They uninstalled and reinstalled the extension, and confirmed Wi‑Fi only breaks when Quick Share is actively trying to send files.

Another user, MrWhiteford, said their Pixel 10 Pro now disables Wi‑Fi when trying to Quick Share to a Windows PC, forcing transfers over Bluetooth instead. Which takes forever.
Someone filed a bug report on Google’s Issue Tracker, but it got closed with a redirect to user support forums. When support sent them back to the tracker, the ticket remained shut. Multiple users have since commented saying they’re dealing with the same problem across different Wi‑Fi networks, both at home and work.
The back-and-forth feels familiar to anyone following Google’s ongoing struggle with the Pixel telephoto camera stutter bug, where users also faced unclear responses about whether a fix was coming.
The reports so far mention Google Play Services version 25.45.34 and Quick Share extension 1.0.815689706 running on Android 16.
If you’ve got a Pixel 10 and you’re seeing Wi‑Fi drop when you open Quick Share, you’re not alone. But right now, there aren’t enough voices talking about it. Which is why we’re asking.
