The GrapheneOS development team has just dropped a crucial update on its release priorities, finally offering a firm clue on when users can expect full support for the latest Google flagships.

While Pixel 10 owners eager to flash the privacy-focused OS have faced a temporary snag, the team’s latest statement clarifies the roadmap: Pixel 10 support is officially queued up right after the deployment of the next major security update cycle.

This development comes as GrapheneOS pushes aggressively to finalize the migration to the latest Android baseline, a key prerequisite for adding the newest Pixel hardware.

Android 16 QPR1 is the final hurdle

The GrapheneOS team previously warned that a proper Pixel 10 port hinged on the stable release of Android 16 QPR1, and that a recent bug had forced them to delay initial support. Now, it appears that the roadblock is being cleared at lightning speed.

The team has successfully resolved “all the major regressions” reported during testing of its experimental Android 16 QPR1 builds. They are now preparing to move this critical base to their broader testing channels, stating:

“Our upcoming 2025111800 release will likely be our initial production release based on Android 16 QPR1. It should reach our Alpha and Beta channels.”

This means the foundation for Pixel 10 support, the fully stable and patched Android 16 QPR1 base, is imminent for all current Pixel devices (Pixel 6 through 9).

Official timeline for GrapheneOS Pixel 10 support

The team has laid out its priorities in a clear, sequential path. Pixel 10 support won’t arrive immediately with the stable QPR1 release, but it will be the very next major hardware addition.

The priority list is as follows:

  1. Android 16 QPR1 rollout: Finalizing the stable launch to Alpha and Beta channels (happening now).
  2. Monthly security preview releases: Integrating all upcoming security patches for December 2025, January 2026, February 2026, and March 2026.
  3. Pixel 10 support: “and finally support for all four Pixel 10 models.”

In simple terms, GrapheneOS needs to be fully up-to-date on its core operating system and security patching cadence first. Once the OS is current through the coming months of security updates, the development resources will shift entirely to integrating the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold into the production builds.

While no hard date was provided, this sequence strongly suggests that Pixel 10 support will land sometime after the March 2026 security patch cycle is incorporated, likely arriving in late Q1 or early Q2 2026.

This detailed roadmap was bundled with a clear nod to the brewing rivalry with an unnamed “small company” that GrapheneOS recently accused of spreading “misinformation and libel” after a failed partnership attempt. The team punctuated its serious development plans with a fiery vow to address the competitor’s claims: “We can find time to debunk another falsely marketed product too.”

The team continues to stress that its long-term future still involves ending Pixel exclusivity. They are currently focused on a “serious OEM partnership with a large company actively working on implementing MTE” to secure a true replacement for the Pixel line that meets their rigorous standards.

For now, the GrapheneOS community can breathe a sigh of relief knowing the path to running the OS on their brand-new Pixel 10 devices is finally clear, even if the road is paved with several months of high-priority security updates first.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem.
