WhatsApp’s long-awaited multiple account support for iPhone users appears ready to launch after the company quietly published an official FAQ page detailing how the feature works. The catch? Nobody can actually use it yet.
The FAQ page seems to have recently gone live on WhatsApp’s support site, providing step-by-step instructions for adding a second account, switching between profiles, and managing notifications across both numbers. But as excited users on Reddit quickly discovered, the feature itself hasn’t rolled out in the app. Even after updating to the latest version and restarting their devices, iPhone users are still stuck with single-account access for now.
“It’s finally here! WhatsApp on iOS now supports multiple accounts,” wrote Reddit user beynelmilel in the r/whatsapp community.

Other users chimed in to confirm that despite the official documentation, the actual functionality remains absent. “Still waiting for official announcement because no one in world got this update in iOS apart from FAQ page,” commented one user.
This isn’t exactly new territory for WhatsApp. The messaging platform has been testing multiple-account support on iOS since January 2025, with beta versions appearing in reports from WABetaInfo, which The Verge picked up earlier this year. Android users, meanwhile, have enjoyed this feature for quite some time, making the iPhone limitation particularly annoying for those juggling personal and work numbers.
According to the now-public FAQ, users will be able to add up to two accounts on a single device, each requiring its own phone number. The implementation looks fairly straightforward: tap the settings menu, hit the plus icon next to your name, and follow the verification process for your second number. Both accounts will receive notifications even when idle, though you’ll need to switch between them to actually view messages or answer calls.

What makes this different from the current workaround is that iPhone users won’t need to rely on WhatsApp Business anymore just to access a second account. Each profile can have its own picture, status, notification settings, and privacy controls.
The FAQ page going live suggests the feature could arrive any day now, though WhatsApp hasn’t announced an official rollout date. For iPhone users tired of carrying two devices or constantly logging in and out, the wait might finally be almost over.
