Update 14/11/25 – 11:55 am (IST): One user shared a screenshot from a conversation they had with Hulu support, wherein the support agent claimed that licensing and rights issues are the reason why subscribers can’t record NBC shows. Check out the screenshot for details:

Meanwhile, a few users who reached out to support to complain about the problem reported receiving credits as compensation. Unfortunately, there’s still no word about when users can expect the issue to be fixed.

Original article published on November 13, 2025, follows:

People who rely on Hulu + Live TV for their nightly shows are complaining that something odd is happening to their DVR. Instead of the usual stack of freshly recorded episodes, some viewers say the recording counts update, but the episodes themselves are nowhere to be found.

One of the main threads on Reddit describes Jeopardy recordings showing up normally, while shows like The Tonight Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, SNL, and weekend sports broadcasts either never appear or only display streaming versions instead of actual DVR files.

In that same thread, the recording counter increases as if something was captured, only for the list to be empty when opened. Others chimed in with their own variations of the problem. Some say their recordings bounce them back to the main list before they even load.

A few viewers in different states reported that only NBC programs fail while other networks record without trouble, and one user mentioned that recordings on HBO East suddenly defaulted to the Spanish feed. A number of people said the issue started right after the time change, with shows appearing to tape an hour early, then disappearing completely once they were supposed to be available.

More users posted separate threads describing the same symptom: empty recordings and NBC entries that cannot be played, even though the DVR claims they exist.

To make things more confusing, a handful of users say the affected episodes eventually appear under search or under “watch latest episode,” but only as streaming versions with full ad loads. SNL is often mentioned as missing entirely. Troubleshooting has involved everything from restarting Roku devices to re-adding shows one by one, though none of it seems to consistently fix the problem. Some users contacted support and were told the issue was widespread and already escalated internally. A couple managed to get short credits on their bills, although others were told no credits could be applied.

After the complaints spread to X, Hulu’s support team publicly responded and confirmed that they are looking into similar reports. Their message directs users to phone or chat support so the team can gather account details and error information for the investigation.

With multiple active Reddit threads documenting the same behavior and Hulu support now pointing people to direct assistance channels, the problem appears to be on Hulu’s side rather than anything subscribers can fix themselves.

We’ll keep an eye out for any further developments and will update this post when there’s something to share. That said, it’s likely that a fix will arrive sooner rather than later, so hang in there.
