Update 11/11/25 – 10:28 am (IST): Google has confirmed that the issue has been fixed. Here’s the update they posted:

Creators checking their October earnings this week got a brief moment of excitement when their expected payments appeared to have doubled in YouTube Studio. But the celebration was short-lived — YouTube quickly confirmed it’s just a display glitch.
The issue popped up on Reddit’s r/PartneredYoutube community, where creator fotogod posted that their $1,300 payment had suddenly jumped to $2,600. Comments poured in from other creators seeing the same thing. Some reported modest increases, while others saw wild numbers — one creator’s payment went from £5,000 to £10,000, another jumped from €7,800 to €15,744.
Reactions ranged from cautiously optimistic to outright skeptical. A few joked about YouTube giving out an early holiday bonus, with one creator thinking their videos had suddenly gone viral. Most suspected something was off, though, and they were right. Clement Kong, a Google employee, posted an official response in the YouTube help forums about three hours after the Reddit thread started gaining steam.
“We’re aware of an issue where some creators are seeing unusually high or doubled earnings in YouTube Studio or AdSense,” Kong wrote. “Our teams are currently investigating and we’ll provide updates here once we know more.”
Things got clearer once creators started cross-checking their accounts. YouTube Studio showed the doubled amounts, but AdSense displayed the correct figures. So it’s a display bug in Studio’s interface, not an actual miscalculation. Several experienced creators mentioned in another Reddit thread that similar glitches have happened a few times this year, usually fixing themselves within a day or two.
This all happened during YouTube’s standard payment window. October earnings get finalized between November 7 and 12, with payments going out between the 21st and 26th. Plenty of creators check their numbers during this period, which explains why the doubled amounts got noticed so fast.
YouTube hasn’t said exactly when the bug will be fixed, but based on past glitches, the numbers in Studio should correct themselves in the next day or so. Until then, creators should check AdSense directly for accurate payment info.
We’ll post an update if and when there are any further developments.
