Google could be gearing up to release the Android 16 QPR2 stable update alongside the November 2025 Pixel Feature Drop as early as today, November 4. The rollout is expected to bring an exciting mix of new customization tools, smarter notifications, creative AI-powered enhancements, and critical system fixes, continuing Google’s steady momentum of monthly improvements across its Pixel lineup.
Google has published the November 2025 Android Security Bulletin, confirming patch level 2025-11-01. The bulletin details multiple vulnerabilities fixed across components, including a critical remote code execution (RCE) flaw in the System component (CVE-2025-48593) that required no user interaction to exploit.
“The most severe of these issues is a critical security vulnerability in the System component that could lead to remote code execution with no additional execution privileges needed,” Google notes in the bulletin.
In total, the patch also addresses elevation of privilege vulnerabilities and other critical bugs across Android 13 through 16. Google says AOSP source code patches will be released within 48 hours, with affected devices receiving OTA updates over the coming days.
First look at the November Pixel Feature Drop
Hints of what’s coming first appeared in late October, when Mystic Leaks on Telegram tipped that the November Feature Drop would debut this week, and it appears the timing was spot on. According to that early leak, the update introduces Google’s first themed customization packs, beginning with the “Wicked: For Good” design inspired by the upcoming Wicked musical film. The rollout coinciding with the film’s international premiere this weekend suggests Google may be cleverly tying its feature drop to pop culture buzz.
Pixel Studio & smarter creative tools
Another standout feature reportedly making its debut is Pixel Studio, a new creative suite powered by Gemini. It lets users generate and animate images from text prompts, similar to AI video tools like Veo 3 or Veo 3.1. Type what you want your image to do, say, “a sunrise turning into a neon skyline,” and Gemini will create and animate it, producing a short video clip. This could mark one of Google’s most ambitious AI integrations yet on mobile.
Notifications get a VIP upgrade
Google is also said to be enhancing notification management through an update to its Pixel VIPs program. Select Pixel users might soon get priority notifications, allowing messages from chosen contacts via Google Messages or WhatsApp to bypass Do Not Disturb and reach them instantly. It’s a subtle but practical improvement for those who want tighter control over how they’re reached.
If past release patterns hold, Pixel phones from the Pixel 6 series onward should start seeing the Android 16 QPR2 Stable update and November Feature Drop today or later this week. Expect new customization options, better AI experiences, and essential security improvements bundled in this rollout.
