YouTube Music users on iOS are finding themselves unable to share their favorite tracks, albums, or playlists with friends or on social media. The issue appears to have cropped up recently, with multiple reports surfacing on Reddit and X over the past day.

The bug is straightforward but incredibly annoying. When users tap the share button within the YouTube Music app on their iPhones or iPads, the share sheet pops up as expected, showing all the usual options like Messages, Gmail, Instagram, Snapchat, and so on. The problem? Nothing happens when you try to tap on any of these options.

Users can scroll through the horizontal list of available apps, but tapping on any icon simply doesn’t register. It’s like the buttons are there, but completely unresponsive.

Users on X have also posted about the broken share function, with one asking if anyone else is experiencing the same issue. Over on Google’s support forums, one user pointed out that they had trouble with the YouTube app the other day (due to the widespread outage), and now they can’t share Music via the YouTube Music app.

I tested this myself on my iPhone running YouTube Music, and can confirm the feature is completely broken. The share sheet appeared when I tried sharing a song, but none of my taps registered on any of the sharing options. Scrolling worked fine, but actually selecting an app to share with? Impossible.

Interestingly, I checked the same feature on two separate Android devices, and everything worked perfectly fine there. This seems to be an iOS-specific problem.

Multiple users on the r/YoutubeMusic subreddit have tried the usual troubleshooting steps. Restarting their devices, offloading and reinstalling the app, checking for updates, even messing with WiFi settings. Nothing has worked.

That said. This isn’t the only Google app that’s acting up for users with iPhones. Earlier today, I highlighted a problem with YouTube where it seems the company has gotten rid of the search filters. So keep an eye out for any updates to the YouTube Music app on the App Store. Hopefully, a fix arrives sooner rather than later.
