Ulta Beauty customers are facing major problems trying to complete their purchases as the retailer battles a widespread technical outage affecting both its app and website.

Shoppers have been unable to place orders for hours, with many reporting that their carts keep vanishing or showing as empty despite items clearly being added. The worst part about this is that it erupted during the final hours of a 20% off promotion that expires today.

“I’ve been trying to get my cecred all day and your app keep saying my cart is empty,” one frustrated customer wrote on X. Users on Reddit also had similar complaints, with some saying the cart icon shows the correct number of items, but clicking on it reveals nothing.

But that’s not all. Many customers can’t log into their accounts at all, while others who managed to reach checkout are stuck staring at blank screens.

A few who successfully placed orders received no confirmation emails, leaving them uncertain whether their purchases went through. Some shoppers even reported their payment cards being charged without any order confirmation appearing in their account.

Ulta acknowledged the outage on X, saying its teams are “working swiftly to get everything back up and glowing.”

Since this outage is happening during the promotion period, customers are calling on Ulta to extend the 20% coupon by at least a day to make up for the technical mess.

We’ll keep an eye out for any further details and will update the article when there’s something to share.
