Update 07/10/25 – 09:04 am (IST): After yesterday’s whole fiasco, the situation recovered briefly, but it seems the server issues are back yet again. Many users have taken to Reddit and X in the past few hours to complain about the situation. Riot has also confirmed the problem on its status page, where they’ve noted that they’re investigating the issue. Again, there’s no ETA for a fix.

Original article published on October 6, 2025, follows:

League of Legends players have been reporting frustrating server problems over the weekend with complaints about extreme lag, high ping, and players getting booted from matches across multiple regions.

Multiple threads popped up on r/leagueoflegends describing games where teams kept dropping out or dealing with impossible ping spikes. One player mentioned being in games where their team “just keeps one dc’ing or there is just one person with good ping,” highlighting how uneven the impact was across different regions.

The situation got bad enough that players on opposing teams started confirming in chat that everyone was experiencing the same issues. One Reddit user noted that “we confirmed with the enemy team that they are all being hard disconnected, and the spikes are happening to everyone,” adding that their next ranked match saw both teams surrender early because half of each team appeared AFK.

X user @RhyJadestorm asked Riot to “fix the game” after playing a match where 8 out of 10 players had connection problems. Another player, @beanut722, shared video footage of being completely unable to move during a ranked game, frantically demanding their lost LP back.

Rather than acknowledging the problem, mods on the subreddit have removed a number of posts about the issue. I’ve captured a screenshot of some of the posts that we deleted. Comments on those posts clearly indicate that the issue is widespread.

Some players got hit harder than others, with one frustrated user sharing that they lost 30+ LP after first being unable to lock in a champion, then getting into a game where only their team disconnected for half the match, while the enemy team had no issues.

The complaints extended beyond just lag across all affected regions. One player described the game as “literally unplayable,” citing terrible ranked matchmaking and random 500+ ping spikes even in arena mode. Not only is this disrupting gameplay, but players are also getting hit with AFK penalties for no fault of their own.

That said, Riot has officially acknowledged the problems on the official status tracker. The League of Legends status page currently mentions, “We’re aware of a problem causing players to disconnect from their games and are investigating the problem.”

There’s no ETA for a fix, but we’ll keep an eye out for any further developments and will post an update if and when there’s something to share.
